Hello!
This is the first time I have posted about Merit Assembly awards. I hope you enjoy the post and think it's a good way to celebrate the success of the children in Class 1.
It was very difficult to pick Merit awards this half term, all of the class have made huge progress in their learning journey. Both Mrs Sims and I are so proud of the children in our class.
Jared
You are number smart Jared. I tell Jared this all the time. Jared can see a number line in his head that reaches out to numbers I didn't know about myself!! In the last few weeks he has been counting backwards, beyond 0. Jared asked what numbers came before 0 when we were using our counting stick and that's how he found out about negative numbers. Since then we have been investigating temperatues with thermometres and talking about the weather so that we know how to use negative numbers. Thank you Jared, everyone in your class enjoyed using negative numbers this term.
Lex
Lex is the kind of friend everyone would like to have, and luckily everyone in Class 1 has one! Lex! He is always polite, helpful and kind. Lex will help other children do their jobs, listen to them when they are speaking and is courteous to adults and children. I bet Lex is also a good friend to children in other classes when he outside on the playground. I know that his favourite place to play was in the quiet garden and this is a great place to have a chat. You're such a brilliant friend Lex, thank you!
Liana
You have this Merit badge to celebrate your writing. Liana spends a lot of her time in the writing area, but it's not the only place you like to write. Liana makes cards and letters in The Den. She makes lists in the Role Play Area. There's always writing happening on the Creative table when Liana is there. There's even writing outside with chalk! Her stories are fantastic and well thought out. Super work Liana!
Sophie
This half term Sophie has become so imaginative. She is asking questions and then trying to find the answers herself by stopping and thinking about what she wants to know. Sophie has spent a lot more time in the Role Play corner pretending to decorate her bedroom with pink paint and a choice of wallpapers. Whilst making sea scape pictures this term she has tried out lots of different ways to decorate her fish. Keep letting Sophie explore at home, it's really helping her creativity reach new heights! Great work Sophie!!
Izzy
Wow! Izzy! You are so independent! Izzy will listen to ideas on the carpet at teaching time. She then talks about her ideas with her friends. Then when it comes to writing in her group time, she picks up the pencil and writes writes writes! She isn't affraid to use any of the new sounds she has learned and is confident in everything she writes now! Brilliant!! It doesn't stop there though, she's a great 'all rounder'. This means she isn't affraid to try ANYTHING new! In PE, design, art, dance, problem solving (... the list could go on and on..), she always tries 100% and gets in there and has a go! Keep it up, it's a great attitude to have to learning Izzy!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the families of Class 1 children. This whole term has been a pleasure, your children have worked so hard and so have you! Have a lovely Easter holiday and we'll see you in Summer Term.
